Lake Tapps 2016 Drawdown and 2017 Fill Schedule Announced

Beginning today, Lake Tapps Reservoir will be allowed to float down through the fall, with an anticipated lake level drop of approximately one foot by Thanksgiving. Homeowners should watch lake levels to determine when to take their boats out of the water. In January, Cascade will test a new valve and will draw the reservoir down approximately 6 to 8 feet, which would be a good time for residents to consider improvements or new projects, with the appropriate permits. The Lake Tapps Incident Locator Program, first launched in 2014 by East Pierce Fire and Rescue, will expand significantly in coming weeks with funding from Cascade Water Alliance. Lake Tapps Reservoir Spring Refill Update

The Lake Tapps reservoir is now at elevation 541.5 feet – the bottom of full recreational pool – and will continue to be between the 541.5 to 543 foot range throughout the spring and summer.
