Lake Tapps Algae Update

The caution advisory for algae bloom in Lake Tapps remains in effect. Cascade is taking additional samples to be tested as it continues to work in partnership with the Tacoma-Pierce County Department of Health, which monitors the health conditions. Residents should stay away from water where algae is present. Areas of the lake with no algae should be fine for recreational activities.  According to discussions with PSE, the former owner of Lake Tapps, there is a history of algae in the White River-Lake Tapps system.  It is not expected that there will be additional updates until results are released next week.
