Water Bottle Filling Station at Redmond High School

On Friday, April 29, Cascade Water Alliance joins Redmond High School students and officials for the dedication of a new water bottle filling station.  Redmond Mayor Angela Birney, Redmond High School Principal Jill VanderVeer and students will speak at the event.

Mandira, Redmond High School student and member of the school’s Green Team, says ‘We have to look at the long term. There are simple changes we can make and switching from a plastic bottle to a reusable one is something anyone can do.’  When a student signs a pledge to use a reusable water bottle, they receive one for free.

Cascade teamed up with Redmond High School to help fund the water bottle filling station and provided 2300 reusable water bottles for the project. City of Redmond is a founding member of Cascade Water Alliance, a regional water supplier providing high quality drinking water for Redmond and 380,000 residents and 20,000 businesses across its service area. Sustainability is a critical part of Cascade’s water management planning, making the best use of existing water supplies before developing expensive, new sources.
