Heading into the final quarter of 2026, program planning for the Cascade Supply Program (CSP) is well underway! Current focus areas include:
- Evaluating potential storage tank locations and water transmission corridor options. This work involves extensive engineering evaluation and analyzing more than 70 criteria to determine least-impact areas for the program’s primary water supply investments.
- Continued assessment of system hydraulics. The team is gathering existing data, identifying data gaps, and coordinating with Tacoma Water to help plan the movement of water the transmission system to meet the region’s long-term water supply.
- Coordinating closely with members to understand and meet communication needs and priorities.
- Developing strategies for communications and outreach, permitting and land acquisition. These strategies will soon be presented to Cascade’s Board and once finalized, they will guide the CSP’s work on these critical topics throughout the life of the program.
