Program Overview

Program Overview

With the pending Tacoma contract, Cascade has begun planning for the Cascade Supply Program.  The program will provide a resilient water supply to our member agencies well into the future.  At approximately $1.0 billion, the program will be the largest undertaken by Cascade and involve miles of transmission and distribution mains, storage tanks, a chlorination station, and more in the future.

Major project components are shown on the map below.  The near term focus will be on the Tacoma Cascade Transmission Line (TCTL), approximately 25-30 miles of pipe, ranging from 24” to 66” in diameter, which will deliver up to 35MGD of water from Tacoma’s Pipeline 5.  In addition to the TCTL, a terminal storage facility will be sited, and a re-chlorination station will be constructed.  See the Future Consulting Opportunities if you are interested in more information on the proposed projects in the program.

We are currently planning that construction of the TCTL would begin around 2030.  Design and construction of the other program components and connections to our member agencies would follow behind.
